Registrants must be domicile holders of the respective state or meet specific Air Force personnel-related domicile criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
Age & Marital Status
- Born between 1 January 2005 – 1 July 2008 (both inclusive).
- Maximum age limit: 21 years at the date of enrolment.
- Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
- Female candidates must also undertake not to become pregnant during the four-year engagement.
Education & Subject Stream (Non-Science)
- 10+2 (any stream) with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
- 2-year vocational course with the same marks criteria.
- 3-year Engineering Diploma in specified fields with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
Physical & Medical Standards
- Height: Minimum 152 cm for all, with relaxations for certain regions.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Hearing: Must hear forced whisper at 6 meters.
- Dental: Healthy gums, good teeth, minimum 14 dental points.
- Vision: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6.
Selection Process: Step by Step
Original documents including education, domicile, identity, photographs, consent form, and certificates are verified.
1.6 km run (Males: 7 min, Females: 8 min) followed by push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
Objective OMR-based, bilingual test with English and Reasoning & General Awareness sections.
AT-I: Objective assessment of adaptability. AT-II: Tests suitability for Air Force lifestyle.
Comprehensive medical checks including lab investigations, X-ray, ECG, etc.
Candidates declared unfit may appeal by depositing ₹40 and appearing before AMB.
Training, Service Tenure & Rewards
Enlistment & Duration
Selected Agniveervayu serve under Air Force Act, 1950, for a fixed period of 4 years. After training and skill development, only up to 25% may be offered regular cadre positions.

Running Test:
- Males: 1.6 km run within 7 minutes

The engagement period for Agniveervayu is 4 years. After completion of this period, up to 25% of Agniveers may be offered regular cadre positions based on merit and organizational requirements.
The monthly package is as follows:
- 1st year: ₹30,000 (₹21,000 in-hand + ₹9,000 to corpus)
- 2nd year: ₹33,000 (₹23,100 + ₹9,900)
- 3rd year: ₹36,500 (₹25,550 + ₹10,950)
- 4th year: ₹40,000 (₹28,000 + ₹12,000)
Upon exit, Agniveers receive a Seva Nidhi Package of approximately ₹10.04 lakh (plus interest), which is tax-free.

- All Agniveers receive a Skill Certificate detailing their training and experience
